[Elie Cherachoff] Elie Cherachoff was born about 1890 in Clerkenwell, London. He did military service in Palestine during World War I, and later worked there and in Egypt as a civil servant. At the outbreak of World War II, he moved with his wife Sally and two sons Victor and Louis to Kenya. Sally returned to England after Elie's death, and lived for many years with Elie's sister Sarah and her husband.
